The Chosen is the first multi-season series about the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth.  It is directed and co-written by  Dallas Jenkins, whose intention was to dig deeper into the people who encountered Jesus and to see Jesus through their eyes in a more personal way.  

The show can be viewed completely free for everyone and the goal is to produce it in at least 100 languages.  It is financed via crowdfunding.  Viewers are asked to "pay it forward" only if they are able and want to contribute any amount they wish to fund future seasons.  Season one was the top crowd-funded TV series or film project of all time.  Seasons 2 and 3 have been realeased for a while on streaming options.
